WING ARCHERY LONGBOW FIREBIRD 64"

This series of long bows was specifically made for the demanding conditions of today’s tournament competitions. 3D targets, which are placed at distances of 36 to 54 metres, call for special quality requirements in bows. Good ballistics firing has a decisive influence on the results achieved.

For this reason, this series of bows was constructed entirely from carbon fibre. In these models a special carbon is applied, one which is about 24% lighter than fiberglass of the same strength. This carbon can be used on both the front and the back sides of the bow and consists of several layers. All these carbon bows have extremely light limb weight, which has a major effect on maximum performance. Lightweight limbs help to give the bow better acceleration and reduce hand shock. The carbon absorbs the excess energy after the shot much better than fiberglass. This factor has an impact on the accuracy of the shot.

All models were tested for several months. In one of the tests the bow was pulled to 29" and mantained at full draw for 15 hours. The result was a change in draw weight of 1lb.

The ideal arrow weight for full carbon bows is recommended from 7 to 7.5 grains/pound.
